On Sunday, June 13, 2021, around 1:00 p.m, the police team affected the arrest of Mr Kwashie Candrel and handed over him to the Amasaman Divisional Police Command for processing before the law court.

A Police patrol team of the Greater Accra Regional Police Command has arrested a 35-year old man, Mr Kwashie Candrel who was suspected to have killed a 32-old year driver, Nii Armah Appiah at Oba Kroway near Ashalaja in the Ga South Municipality in Accra.

According to the victim's family members, the suspect has shot and killed Nii Armah Appiah at Oba Kroway when he went to collect his seized motorbike from Mr Kwashie Candrel.

In the process, the fight erupted between the two and eventually, Mr Kwashie Candrel shot the victim and killed him instantly.

According to the police with the Criminal Investigative Department (CID) of the Amasaman Divisional Police Command, the suspect was arrested in his hideout at Oba Kroway near Ashalaja Kasoa in Accra, following a tip-off.

For the past three and half months, the police have mounted a serious search for Mr Kwashie Candrel who killed Nii Armah Appiah with a gun on Sunday, February 14, 2021, and went into hiding.

The hunt for the suspect by the police followed an official report lodged with the Kasoa Amanfrom Police Station by the grandfather of Nii Armah Appiah, Mr Osumanu Lamptey that on Sunday, February 14, 2021, Nii Armah Appiah was reported to have shot to death by Mr Kwashie Candrel and disappeared into thin air.

But luck, however, eluded Mr Kwashie Candrel who was arrested in his hiding place at Oba Kroway and brought to the Amasaman Divisional Police Command.

A police investigator with Amassaman Divisional Police Command confirmed the arrest of Mr Kwashie Candrel Mr Ashia and stated that he would be processed before the law court for justice to prevail in the case.
