Mampong Residents  In Danger As they were buying meats from contaminated Animals Slaughter House

Disappointment in the Mampong Municipal Assembly for deafening silence regarding the unpleasant situation of the Mampong Slaughter House.

The lives of scores of the residents who are buying meats that have been slaughtered from the only animal slaughterhouse at Mampong of the Ashanti Region are in danger.
A video in possession of Soireenews.com shows more details on how the animals slaughtered from the Mampong Slaughter House didn't go through accepted hygienic processes although the animals slaughtering processes were legally supervised by the veterinary officers.

The Mampong abattoir has been operating for over two decades under continually deteriorating conditions and all efforts made by the traditional authorities and residents to get the authorities of government to renovate the facility to meet accepted hygiene and sanitary standards have proven futile.
The current situation of the facility shown in the video is very disgusting and dangerous to human beings and those who are buying meats slaughtered from the Mampong abattoir and eating should be mindful of the unsanitary conditions of the abattoir.
The video also showed the open drains which had been choked by excreta from the intestines of the slaughtered animals.
In the video, the dangerous flies saw besieged in the yard of the slaughterhouse due to the pungent smell from the gutters at the abattoir.
Speaking in an interview with Soireenews.com, the residents expressed disappointment in the Mampong Municipal Assembly for deafening silence regarding the unpleasant situation of the Mampong Slaughter House.
According to them, there were some years ago when the Member of Parliament (MP) for Mampong Constituency, Mr. Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong has taken the initiative to roof the dilapidated Mampong slaughterhouse.
Following this development, the residents indicated that the MP promised to renovate the building structure but he is yet to redeem that promise he made to the people of Mampong.
"We are surprised that the veterinary officers who supervised the day-to-day slaughtering of animals in Mampong Abattoir would allow the only functioning slaughterhouse to operate under unsanitary conditions at Mampong," the residents fumed
In this regard, the residents called for government support to rebuild the place that kills cattle sold as beef in most parts of Mampong.
