Chief Executive Officer,  Jesus Ark Foundation(JAF), Madam Eunice Godsent has admonished parents to as a matter of need show commitment to the upbringing of their children.

This, according to the non-profit humanitarian organization will advance the holistic training of their children.

Ms. Eunice Godsent who was speaking in an interview at the Apostolic Church Ghana, Fan Milk junction sensitized the church underscoring how paramount it is to give children what she termed 'The right training with an effective monitoring system".

She bemoaned the situation where some parents see their children as mere instruments tossed around to achieve their selfish parochial interests. She holds the view that children,   just like gold, will have to be subjected to minimal training to reveal the real beauty embedded therein, therefore, urging parents not to withdraw discipline in their upbringing.

Given that, she indicated that using the cane will not be a bad idea provided it will be administered responsibly. According to her, the ripple effect of badly administered disciplinary measures draws a child far away from their parents or guardians. Ms. Godsent disclosed that in such situations, the child or children will be left at the mercy, influence, and tutorage of bad advice, therefore, urging parents to mitigate that with love.

She admonished parents to have limited punitive measures on children and rather have a way of establishing a closer relationship with their children. She said it is only when a parent can convince their children or child of love that children or children can confide in their parents or guardians.

The benefit of that, she noted will enable parents to have the opportunity to influence their children positively. "Children tend to discuss their challenges with those they assume accept them just the way they are. She entreats parents to have a limit for discipline and assure of why they have to be corrected so that there will not be enmity between them.
