Mahama to address Ghanaians after losing election petition
One of Mr. Mahama’s legal team member in the just ended case, disclosed the move by former President to address the country.

NDC's Presidential candidate for the 2020 election John Mahama will address Ghanaians over the Supreme Court verdict at 5:00 pm today March 4, 2021.
One of Mr. Mahama’s legal team member in the just ended case, Abraham Amaliba made this known shortly after the apex court’s judgement on Thursday, March 4, 2021.
He said, unlike the usual post-proceedings press conferences by spokespersons, today’s address will be presented personally by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate in the polls.
“We just heard the judgement of the Supreme Court. Unfortunately, we are not able to address you now. We shall however address you through our flagbearer at 5 pm at his office,” Amaliba announced.
Three months after the trial, the Supreme on Thursday, March 4, 2021, ruled that the petition as filed by John Mahama was without merit.
A seven-member of the Supreme Court has today March 4 dismissed former President John Mahama’s suit challenging the 2020 election results.
In reading the judgment on Thursday, March 4, 2020, Chief Justice, Anim Yeboah stated that the petitioner failed to prove his case beyond a reasonable doubt. The Supreme Court panel added that the errors announced by the Electoral Commission Chairperson, Jean Mensa, cannot be used to invalidate the election after those had been corrected.
According to the Supreme Court, the errors announced by Jean Mensa did not adversely affect any of the candidates in the 2020 elections. The Supreme Court also held that the petitioner failed to adduce enough evidence to merit a re-run between Mr Mahama and President Akufo-Addo.
