Former President John Mahama has supported calls government as a matter of urgency to support flood victims in the Upper West Region.

Former President John Mahama has supported flood victims in the Nadowli-Kaleo District of the Upper West Region who were badly affected by heavy downpours.

The downpour Washed away major roads, farmlands and some houses in the area.

The residents of the Goliyiri electoral area were the most affected in the Upper West Region.

Mr Mahama who visited the Upper West Region as part of his 'thank you tour' inspected the potion of the damaged roads and victims of the downpour.

Mr Mahama in his address expressed dismay about the incident and called on the government to as a matter of agency come to the aid of the people.

According to him, the devastation has done many disservices to the Upper West Region. 

He further donated 50 bags of rice, 50 bags of cement and 20 sets of zinc to the affected victims.

Receiving the items the Assemblyman of the Goliyiri electoral area, Hon Leskum Musah thanked the former president for the gesture and appealed for more Support.

He narrated that many residents have lost their farmlands, homes and several properties.
