Mahama Reshapes Mepe Township Roads To Make Them More Motorable For The Residents
THE Chairman of the North Tongu Tongu Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. C.K Akaho-Tay accompanied by a team of executives, has inspected the ongoing rehabilitation of Mepe township roads.

The road rehabilitation was made possible by the office of the incoming President, H.E John Dramani Mahama, who sent a grader to the community to reshape the internal roads and to enhance mobility within Mepe ahead of the annual Afenorto Festival.
The rehabilitation is aimed at fixing damage caused by devastating flooding from the nearly a year ago, resulting from the reckless spillage of the Akosombo and Kpong dams by the Volta River Authority (VRA).
Since work commenced last Friday, over 15 communities and adjoining roads have been fixed, delighting the inhabitants a great deal.
The areas rehabilitated includes but are not limited to the Adzaklo Junction to Adukonus House, Kizito by Pass to Vokpo Cemetery road (ie behind RC JHS), RC JHS down through ''God is God Avenue" and Pentecost Central to RC Primary,  Roman Street to Global Church Junction, Global Church Junction to Lukunu Village, Mamaga Adzo Sreku IV street,  Togbega Kwao Anipati street to Todzokpoe, Keta street to Adzigo Torkor and Mamaga Awusi Sreku street to Dumega Glah street.
The chiefs and people of the Mepe Traditional Area in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region have expressed heartfelt appreciation to the NDC and former President Mahama for the prompt intervention.
The community's annual festival began last Friday and the road rehabilitation has enhanced the preparations for the celebration.
It does appear that the NDC and former President Mahama's intervention has
brought significant relief and joy to the Mepe community, showcasing the positive impact of political leadership on local communities.
It must also be placed on record that since
the flood rocked affected victims of their properties, the government of Ghana has yet to put roof on the head of a single affected victim.
The majority of the thousands of affected victims are in tents and inhumane structures. How irresponsible can this government of Nana Addo-Bawumia and NPP be?
"We therefore call on the government to put an end to the politics of convenience and treat each citizen and community equally and with respect," the residents appealed.
In a related development, the Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu, Honourable Samuel Okdzeto-Ablakwa has donated twenty-three (23) pieces of street lights to the chiefs. and people of Mepe Traditional Area to prevent darkness on the streets for the prevention of crimes within the Mepe township during the 68th  Mepe Afenorto Festival.

The street lights were present to Togbe Maklalo Nego Vl by C. K. Akaho-Tay, NDC North Tongu Constituency Chairman on behalf of the MP and the NDC.
