Madina MP Lawyer Sosu Appointed Vice President Of West African Caucus Of The African Parliamentary Union

National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Madina Constituency in the Greater Accra Region Hon. Francis-Xavier Sosu has been appointed as Vice President of the West African Caucus of the African Parliamentary Union.
The appointment was made at the West African Parliamentary Union meeting, which took place at the sidelines of the 83rd Session of the Executive Committee of the African Parliamentary Union.
Hon. Sosu was nominated as a member of Ghana’s Parliamentary Delegation to the 83rd Session of the Executive Committee of the African Parliamentary Union (APU) in Rabat, Morocco, from May 21-22 by the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin.
The delegation was led by the 2nd Deputy Speaker of Parliament and MP for Fomena, Hon. Andrew Asiamah Amoako. Other members of the delegation include Hon. Bede Ziedeng, MP for Lawra-Nandom, Hon. Sammy Awuku, MP for Akuapem North, Hon. John Oti Bless, MP for Nkwanta North and Hon. Shirley Kyei, MP for Atwima Nwabiagya South
The meeting also resolved that the West African Caucus of APU would focus and concern itself with matters of terrorism and the decline in democratic governance in the sub-region ahead of the Africa Parliamentary Union meeting scheduled to take place toward the end of 2025.
The President of the Caucus is Hon. Alioune Gureyre, a delegate from the Malian Parliament and Hon. Lawson Raymonde from Togo's Parliament, who became the Caucus Secretary.
Hon. Sosu was nominated by the 2nd Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Andrew Asiamah Amoako and his nomination was approved by the delegates.
