Leave Joyce Blessing Alone Celestine Donkors's Husband Defense

Kofi Donkor the husband of the gospel musician Celestine Donkor has come to the defense of Joyce Blessing after she was captured in a viral video heavily drunk and professing love to a man she named Kwame.

This follows after a fast trending video of the gospel singer was is seen in a very drunk state, depressed and confessing her love for her alleged new lover, who is reportedly a married man.

In a post that he published on Facebook on Wednesday; Kofi Donkor attempted to dispel any misconceptions about the singer’s habit of “sipping wine” by pointing out that there was nothing wrong with her doing so.

Kofi Donkor wrote, “Whoever is doing this to Joyce Blessing should know that she is just a divorcee, not a murderer. Is she the only person to have divorced in life? By the way, what is the first miracle Jesus did? (Read John 2). I am not here to teach the theology of wine. Nobody has the right to condemn anyone”.

Mr. Donkor has cautioned Ghanaians to “leave the woman alone” and at least “be sensitive to her children.” He added that it takes a lot for a woman to walk out of her marriage and therefore Joyce should be given respect and privacy instead of being subjected to public ridicule.

Parts of Kofi Donkor’s open letter encouraged the singer to stay strong and fight to the end.

“Enough is enough! Leave the woman alone! Be sensitive to her children at least. To my colleagues in the gospel fraternity, today it is Joyce and we have all gone mute, tomorrow it could be you. Let’s fight for our sister. Joyce is strong. The Lord is your strength. He will fight for you. Just be still.”

The singer’s management has issued a statement explaining that the tapes that have been released were filmed quite some time ago and sent to the singer’s spouse. There is no clear indication as to who may have been responsible for leaking the private footage.
