A joke that went too far is making Lil Nas X regret it.

The "Industry Baby" rapper apologized to the trans community on Twitter on Tuesday after being accused of making fun of transitioning in a tweet that has since been deleted.

He wrote, "I def handled that situation with anger instead of considering why it was not cool." He apologized to the trans community. I love you all very much. sorry.”

Prior to that, he joked that he had undergone gender-affirming surgery and shared a picture of the influencer Glow Princess.

He added the caption, "The surgery was a success."

However, some of his followers found it to be completely inappropriate and criticized him for being insensitive to the transgender community.

"I'm in a real sense trying to say she seems as though me you all can't be f***in serious," he terminated back.

Another fan asked him why he "had to mention surgery," and he responded, "because she has titties?" Are you naive?”

He continued to face criticism despite his efforts to make amends, including from one fan who referred to his apology as "fake as hell."

"You need to make a financial apology to the trans community, using money, sharing your platform to raise awareness, and just keep it!" The individual tweeted, which prompted Nas to clap back: Girl, eat my groin.

Nas has been working on his follow-up to his debut album from 2021, Montero, which he said would be out this summer.

"it's generally arranging now," he said. " I could simply release music, but I need to create moments around this nonsense. I have to increase my size!”
