Real Madrid has recorded their first home win in the 2019/2020 La Liga season on Saturday morning at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Karm Benzema scored a brace before Casemiro added a third to life Madrid into the second position with eight points. Borja Mayoral and Gonzalo Merelo scored a consolation for the visitors.

Zidane made a strong start in the game with the midfield trio of Casemiro, Kroos and James who just recovered from injury.

Ruben Rochina and Jose Luis Morales were given space in the midfield to distribute balls to Mayoral who is on loan to Levante from Real Madrid.

Karim Benzema scored the first goal in the 25-minute when Carvajal delivered a left-footed cross into the box. The technique was excellent which saw Benzema drift between two defenders to guide a header into the back of the net.

Casemiro went into the books of the referee with a yellow card through a late tackle in the 30-minute.

Benzema doubled Madrid's lead in the 31-minute. Rochina gave up the ball in a dangerous position, James located his pass through to the Frenchman and he had no trouble in slotting the finish past the stranded Fernandez.

Ten minutes after Karim Benzema's goal, Casemiro added a third in the 40-minute. Vinicius was released down the right side, Casemiro made the run into the middle and the two Brazilians combined to find the back of the net.

VAR was called to examine the goal but after a few minutes delay, Casemiro's goal was confirmed.

Levante after the break pressed Madrid and took over possession. They kept knocking the door of the hosts until they finally pulled one back four minutes later. A low cross was made by Clerc down the left side and Mayoral, on loan from Real Madrid, was there to finish it on the back of the net.

Eden Hazard finally was introduced for his debut to replace Casemiro. Excitement was all over the Bernabeu as the former Chelsea man emerged from the dugout to begin his Real Madrid career.

Real Madrid needed the introduction of Hazard to inject their performance with a bit more urgency because they slumped at the start of the second half and allowed Levante back into the game.

Levante mounted a fight back after former Castilla player, Gonzalo Merelo grabbed a second goal in the 76-minute. Madrid needed stability in midfield and composure in defense to avoid another drama in the remaining 15-minutes.

Zidane substituted Benzema for Luca Jovic who has been struggling to hit his form since the beginning of the season.

The referee ended the game after five minutes of additional time.

Levantes goalkeeper Fernandez was awarded the ‘’Man of The Match’’ after his magnificent saves.
