The French International has been playing through injury for several weeks therefore it was needful to let him rest and strengthen his ankle to regain full fitness.

Unai Emery has given an update on the return of Alexandre Lacazette to full training following an ankle injury. 

Alexandre Lacazette has been out of action for the Gunner’s.

 

 

The French International in a statement by the club revealed in September indicated that Lacazette was playing through injury for several weeks therefore it was important to let him rest and strengthen his ankle to regain full fitness.

Lacazette returned to full training on Thursday and Unai Emery has not ruled out a comeback for his forward in Arsenal’s Monday night game with Sheffield United.

“Today is the first day he is training with us. He finished it well and he is feeling well.

"Tomorrow, again, he is going to train with us and we are going to decide. 

"But the most important thing is for him to be with us, available, first to start training and second if we need him. 

"It depends on how he feels over the next days training with us and his Achilles not giving him any more problem. 

"But it is really positive for us that he has started training with us and to be another possibility for Monday. 

"I do not know if he will be ready to play 90 minutes or the bench but we are going to decide in the next days. 

"But it is really important that he has started to train with us.”
