The suspect identified himself as, Kwaku Manu said, he was sending the children to one man in Kumasi for work.

A 30-year-old man suspected to be trafficking 10 teenagers has been caught by citizens of Tamale on Sunday evening.

The suspect was transporting the children to Kumasi in the Ashanti region to work and was intercepted by a woman who suspected their movement in town before calling the police to take over the case.

According to the woman who rescued the children, she was suspicious after seeing the man cross the road with the teenagers.

Per her words, they were looking confused crossing streets and she was curious about where they were headed but couldn't communicate because the teenagers only spoke the Konkomba language.

The woman said, when the suspect noticed her involvement, he disclosed of travelling with them to Kumasi yet she couldn't allow the children to be trafficked regardless of his pleading.

The police were then involved after support from people around.

The suspect identified himself as, Kwaku Manu said, he was sending the children to one man in Kumasi for work.

According to him, their family members arranged with him, so he is only a messenger.

He added that it is not the first time of trafficking children in the area.
