The Deputy Minister of Information, Hon. Pius Enam Hadzide has disclosed Kumasi as the host of the 7th Townhall Meeting addressing that the event affords government the opportunity to provide the evidence of achievement as far as fulfilment of manifesto promises are concerned.

According to the Deputy Minister, it is important that government accounts to the people of Ghana on programs and policies that have been unveiled to resolve the myriad challenges that were inherited and to also fulfil the social contract government had with the people before the 2016 elections.

 

 

“The government’s achievement are unmatched and unprecedented and his Excellency the vice president will provide the evidence. We’ll recall ladies and gentlemen that during His Excellency the Vice president's interaction with the media that the large portion of the manifesto promises has been fulfilled, and we shall show on the 11th February that no government in our contemporary history in his first term of office has performed better than the government of His Excellency the President and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia,” he revealed.

He spoke at a press briefing on the Ashanti Regional Town Hall meeting of the 7th Government Town Hall Meeting and Results Fair at the Regional Coordinating Council on Wednesday, February 5th, 2020 in Kumasi.

The Ashanti Region will also host both the 63rd Independence Day celebration.

 

 

The 7th Edition of the Town Hall Meeting organized by the Ministry of Information and the Ministry of Monitoring and Evaluation in collaboration with the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council will take place at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, February 11, 2020.  

The guest speaker is the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia chaired by His Royal Majesty, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

 

 

The Minister addressed that the press briefing is a platform to inform a cross section of Ghanaians to come and witness at first hand the presentation of the proof of the achievement of the government of Ghana.

“Everyone is welcome to witness the evidence. We also inform that Chiefs across the length and breadth of this region have been invited as well as opinion leaders across the 43 Districts of the Ashanti Region. Special Interest Groups such as Market women, Religious, and Faith Based organization, our physically challenged and students are all invited.

 

 

The results fair, which is about the photo and video exhibition, was communicated to resume on the sidelines of the Townhall meetings.

“The results fair shall give you the graphic, video and photographic fair of what this government has achieved within its first term. We invite everybody who may have a question or concern or a comment to attend the meeting.

The Ashanti Regional Information Director, Nana Akrasi Sarpong beseeched the press to give a massive reportage and make publicity a key to uphold the upcoming National events.
