The Kumasi Central Market Traders and the Eleven Member Committee have elected and confirmed Mr Michael Kwabena Fosu aka M.K as their new chairman.

He was introduced to the Asante Hemaa who is the head of all Kumasi markets and will oversee the day to day Affairs of the traders and also make sure that those located from the Central Market to racecourse peacefully acquire their shops when the second phase of the Kejetia-Central market project is completed.

Nana Wiafe was also chosen as the vice-chairman of the Central Market Traders and the Eleven Member Committee.

Nana Yaa Foriwaa, Queen Mother of the Kumasi Central Market Traders Association in an interview praised the newly elected chairman for his concern towards the needs of traders and cheered him to keep up with the good work.

She testified that MK's effort was very immense in the acquisition of their new place of trade at the racecourse.

“He played a key role in our relocation from the Central Market to racecourse and his election has been sanctioned by Nana Asantehemaa. That was what we were expecting.

The Queen mother further pleaded to all traders scattered by the roadside to peacefully move to racecourse to avoid any chastisement from the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly this festive month.

“Traders by the roadside must join us in order to avoid going through the wrath of leaders.

“We are pleading to all buyers to come to racecourse and purchase their goods for,” she added.
