Krokobite Gun Battle Saga: Nii Ofei Threatens  To Invoke Gods On  Trouble Makers Who Want To Distroy Krokobite
Nii Ofei III Divisional Chief of Kokrobite
The gazetted chief of the Krokobite finishing community under the Ngleshie Alata Traditional Council in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, Nii Ofei III, has vowed to lead fetish priests of Krokobite Accra to invoke curses on persons they say are destroying their the traditions, customs and norms.
According to the overlord of Krokobite, they would soon perform rituals to ask their deities and ancestors to deal with those involved and alleged to be operating under ‘orders from the members of the Nii Ardey Nkpa clan of Plerno from James Town in Accra.
In an open display of their anger against what they say has been going on for too long, Nii Ofei III noted that they are preparing to pour libation to invoke the gods to deal with everyone playing a part in what they say is plain thievery, and asked that the guilty should not be spared a moment of sleep nor peace.
"We would ask our gods to chase anyone responsible for that act, chase them in the night, by day, whether he lays down, stands, atthe  the table, bathing, in bed with the wife, let them know that they have touched the untouchable, he stressed.
But the chief also wants President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, being a father of the nation, to declare his stance in the matter since it is his police officers who the elders of Nii Arde Nkpa clan of Plerno are engaged in the act.
Nii Ofei III disclosed this in an interview with journalists in respond to the current diabolical movement of the elders ofthe  the Nii Arde Nkpa clan led by Nii Arde Nkpa VI to storm Krokobite township on Thursda,y, June 9, 202,2, to perform rituals to lift the ban on the drumming and noise-making in Krokobite, the traditional rituals which supposed to be performed by Nii Ofei III.
He pointed out that the gods of the land called Krokobitedos do not eat Cow meat but it was the cow meat that the self-seeking elders of the  Nii Arde Nkpa clan led by Nii Arde Nkpa VI had used on Thursday,y June 9, 202,2 to perform the rituals for the gods which were a complete abomination to the Krokobite Divisional Stool.
According to him, elders of the  Nii Ardey Nkpa clan have made concerted efforts to change the history, traditions,s and customs o  the fathers of Krokobite but it will end nowhere.
Nii Ofei III said even way back in the 1900s when their forebears came to settle at Krokobite, the only bond between Arde Nkpa was mere friendship.
So in 1976, his predecessor Nii Ofei II consulted Dr. Tagoe for advice on Krokobite lands but, unfortunately, the council did not go well for them.
“We only pay allegiance to Ngleshie James Town and not any other,” he said. In his view what others are saying that the Arde Nkpa family are real custodians of his area can’t be true.
“The facts don’t support such claims,” he opined. Nii Ofei however, questioned the authenticity of faceless people who constantly doubt the legitimacy of his kingship. He believes they are just there to disturb the peace and stability of Kokrobite.
He expressed his disappointment in the two commanders of the Krokobite and Weija Divisional Police in the Ga South for the current maltreatment meted out to him and called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP),  D.r George Akuffo Dampare t  transfer them.
He said that whilst he and Nii Ardey Npka VI were invited to the Krokobite Police Station on Thursday, y June 9, 202,1 to answer questions leading to the circumstance for the two to be fighting to perform rituals to lift the ban of the drumming and noisemaking in Krokobite township, the Weija Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent, M.r Freeman Kumashie came to invite the two who were at the time with the police at Krokobite Police Station to come to his office at Weija Tollbooth and they followed him to the office.
He pointed out that when they went to his office it was there that the Chief Superintendent Freeman Kumashie told him that he should call home for someone to bring him a cloth to wear and that the Greater Accra Regional Police Commander asked him ( Freeman Kumashie) to bring to the two to his office.
He stated that when they were sent to the office of the Greater Accra Regional Police Commander near the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) headquarters in Accra, it was there that the senior police officer told them that they have caused the gun shooting violence which has resulted to the killing and injuries of some residents in Krokobite township on Thursday,y June 9, 2022.
Following this claim of charge, he said the senior police officer made it clear that "now he has arrested the two (Nii Ofei III and Nii Ardey Npka VI and forced them to write their caution statements against the crime they claimed they had not committed.
"In this regard, l Nii Ofei III asked the Chief Superintendent Freeman Kumashie why is it that the officer preferred these force criminal charges against them when the two were in the police custody at Krokobite Police Station at the time that there was the rife that has resulted to the .bloody violence in the area," he noted.
This notwithstanding, Nii Ofei II asserted that the police officers with the Crime Investigation Department (CID) in the Greater Accra Regional Police Command informed the two that after they had finished with their investigations they would process them before the court.
The decision which, Nii Ofei III described as unlawful and an abuse of their foundation human rights.
He lamented that after taking their caution statements, Chief Superintendent Freeman Kumashie told them that there have been instructions from the Greater Accra Regional Police Commander that the two should be detailed into the police custody.
In this process, the chief disclosed that Nii Ardey Npka VI was sent to a separate cell in the Ministries area and that he was sent to the cell of Cantonments Police Station and detailed till Friday, June 10, 2022, when they were charged before the court and the court has granted them bail.
Although he was treated with a human face in the cell before he was sent to the court, the gazetted overlord of Krokobite mentioned that the police seized his self mobile phone.
Mincing no words, the chief launched an attack at the two commanders of the Krokobite and Weija police stations and described the two as biased, saying their professional attitudes had dented the image of the Ghana Police Service and stressed the need for the IGP to transfer them from the area.
He noted that the Weija Divisional Police Commander was fully aware that he is the only installed chief of Krokobite.
According to Nii Ofei, the Chief Superintendent Freeman Kumashie's outfit has written a letter to the traditional authorities of Krokobite headed by him requesting them to update the police about the dates that the traditional authorities had set aside to perform their necessary rituals for the celebration of this year's Homowo festival.
He said the police informed that when they were informed about dates for the performing of the rituals, they would be deployed personnel from the Ghana Police Service to Krokobite township to protect the security and order for the rituals to be performed.
In this regard, he pointed out that his outfit had written a correspondent letter to respond to the police and detailed them all of their programs of activities towards the celebration of this year's annual Howomo festival of the people of Krokobite.
All of the sudden, Nii Ofei III noted that the Chief Superintendent Freeman Kumashie has rather deployed his officers to support the elders of the Nii Arde Nkpa clan to come to Krokobite township on Thursday, June 10, 2022, to perform rituals that they had not performed before in the traditional history of Krokobite.
"I am surprised to state that l rather that the police had invited to come to their office to discuss a matter and l was there before such incident happened at my back, instead the police are blaming me not Nii Arde Nkpa VI and his followers who came to my jurisdiction to perform the traditional rites.
"I am saying that if IGP and national security council didn't wake up to maintain peace and order in Krokobite by transferring Chief Superintendent Freeman Kumashie and Krokobite Police Commander, before the end of this year, the Krokobite gods are alive and we shall perform rituals and customs for which we shall give them welcome to the gods to ask the police officers in Ghana that can someone been authorized to perform the rituals in the different land that has not to fall within his or her jurisdiction.
He lamented how the District Police command in the area seems to have been influenced by these individuals, for which cause they are persecuting the Stool.
He reminded them that the deity is in the air we breathe and that they are the real owners of the area, hence would vent their anger on perpetrators who want to bring the name of the Stool to disrepute.
To this end, Nii Ofei III called on the President, the Inspector General of Police, and all related state actors to call the District Command to order, to cause them to refrain from such, and many more.
