Kojo Bonsu admonishes NDC to live party tenets The Former Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly(KMA), Honourable Kojo Bonso has described as disappointing the happenings at the National Democratic Congress(NDC) National Youth and Women elections urging that the party tenants ought to be lived.

The happenings, he noted, are disappointing and uncharacteristic of the tenets that underpin a democratic party as the National Democratic Congress. "It is with the soberest mood that I wish to communicate my utmost disgust at the violence that we all witnessed emanating from different venues of our national executive elections", he decried.

He stressed that the "boot-for-boot type of politics" which has been condemned by Ghanaians in the past must not be revisited. The Former Mayor sadly recounted "As I watched the sad developments, I was overwhelmed by the certain disappointment that our great Founder and past patriots would feel to watch some bad nuts bring our party's identity into disrepute". Describing the unfortunate incident as an insult, the Mayor lamented that the philosophy of social democracy does not reminisce the rather dehumanizing happenings at the NDC election. "Our party needs dynamic and committed leadership with integrity that will set a good example for our youth to emulate", he disclosed.

He said the party has been pushed currently into deep slumber urging that pragmatic measures must be put in place to restore the philosophy that distinguishes the NDC. "Warning signs are glaring demanding urgent commitment to overturning the awful posture that has engulfed the party", he intimated.

He entreated the party leadership to learn from the challenges at the courts that the elections could only be won at the polling stations adding that there was a need for greater vigilance and proper organization to annex power and restore the needled hope to the Ghanaian people.

He maintained that the perpetrators of the abominable acts were acting in the interest of one individual and not the party at large. "It is disappointing that we have adults in 2022 who will risk their lives to unleash violence on others in service of someone they allegedly look up to", he bemoaned.

He said that based on the exhibited characters of those individuals, it's obvious such characters are not fit for public service saying, "I wish to distance myself from anyone who condones such short-sighted behavior that brings us all shame". "I together with all law-abiding Ghanaians expect that a proper probe will unearth the culprits and their inspirers", Mr. Bonso indicated.

He appealed to all newly elected executives to work diligently to squash all disagreement within their ranks in realizing that the stakes were too high to encourage disunity among the rank and file. He stressed that the country requires a level-headed administration to take over the leadership and governance of the land. He said the move would engender trust in the Ghanaian people.
