The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) at Koforidua Technical University in the Eastern Region of Ghana, has donated a whooping GHC150,000 to the management of the University as part of the student’s contribution towards the completion of a hospital project by the University.

The SRC President, Victor Togoh expressed confidence in the administration, adding that the donation will go a long way to help complete the hospital project which would be of immense benefit to the students in assessing quality and swift healthcare.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof David Kofi Essumang, who received the donation on behalf of management, commended the SRC for the immense donation.

Currently, the University has a clinic, which operates from a converted classroom.

Despite its recent facelift, several challenges continue to confront the healthcare delivery at this clinic, which also affects students.

However, when the new university hospital is built, and commissioned, to be operationalized, these challenges would ultimately be resolved.

The hospital will serve both students and communities around to ease pressure on the limited health facilities in the New Juaben Municipality.

Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana of Ghana (TUTAG), Koforidua Technical University Chapter has similarly made a donation of Ghc 50,000 to the University towards the construction of the university’s hospital.

The facility is expected to be completed and hand it over for operationalisation by the end of 2023.
