Kenya Kiambu building collapse: Rescue efforts under way

A toddler who was trapped in the debris after a building collapsed in Kiambu, central Kenya, has been rescued by emergency personnel.

A six-story structure collapsed, but several more people were rescued alive, according to Kiambu county governor Kimani Wamatangi.

Sadly, he said, "several are suspected to have died from their wounds."

Although the exact reason for the collapse is unknown, it is known that the structure was being constructed.

According to eyewitness reports, while it was coming down, it struck a neighboring structure. How many victims are still buried beneath the rubble is unknown.
