Abandone drainage

Aggrieved residents of the Kasoa Zongo Electoral Area have called on the authorities to fix their abandoned bridge.

According to the resident, the project that was installed about five years ago is now engulfed with weed, filled with silt and household waste virtually blocking the free flow of water during heavy downpours.

The angry residents of Kasoa  Zongo in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central region affirmed that they are associated with erosion destroying buildings in the area.

They told Soireenews that what makes their current situation worse is the collapse of their temporary wooded bridge improvised for easy access across the storm drain.

The wooden bridge which is a bypass for school children and pregnant women is damaged and in such a time of heavy outpour, they have pleaded with the current MCE and Hon Mavis Hawah Koomson to come to their aid.

Meanwhile, the Assemblyman for Kasoa Zongo Electoral Area, John Eduah has advised electorates to exercise patience despite the lip service after several petitions demanding completion of the project seem to have been shelved.

However, the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Municipality in the Central Region, Hon Mavis Hawa Koomson has promised to construct the drainage system in six months for the people.
