The Awutu Senya East Kasoa New Market Security Taskforce has aapprehended 16 year-girl named withheld for allegedly stealing a sack of cabbage worth GhC5, 000 on Friday morning around 5 A:M.
According to the taskforce, they received aan information that this particular suspect has been engaging in the act on market days.
They explained that the suspect will come stand by a particular sack and monitor to see if the owner is around. If she realizes the owner is not then she will make a fake call as if she has called the owner of tthe items and then will hhire services of carriers to help them deliver where she will deliver it to her accomplice who is a trader in exchange of money.
Speaking to the Addimstrator of the Market, Mr. Haruna Tetteh Mansah , he said, the young girl is in league a woman Eunice Anful who is 40 year old in the market who buy the goods when she steals the items.
The suspect who is the minor along with her accomplice who has been buying the stolen items Mrs. Eunice Anful have been handed over to the police for questioning and further investigations.
He thus bemoaned the high rate of insecurities in the market due to the unfenced nature of the market.
Mr. Haruna however pledge his readiness to help the Police clamp down people who engage in theft and robbery in the market.
