Karaga District Gets the VALCO Trust Project
The Volta Aluminium Company (VALCO) project is designed to put an end to schools under trees.

The Northern Regional Minister, Honourable Alhaji Shani Alhassan Sayibu, and the Member of Parliament for Karaga Honourable Dr Mohammed Amin Adam on June 4, 2021, inaugurated the first of Valco Trust’s 21st Century Public Community Schools Project in the Northern Region.
The aim of the project is to abolish schools under trees nationwide.
The event took place at Kambonsiya in the Karaga District, where most children have been studying under trees.
Through Valco Trust, the Ministry of Energy, and the Ministry of Education, says these children will have a school block in less than three months.
Education continues to be the candle that radiates dark spots in our society, empowers communities to defeat poverty, and provides the resources for long development.
They added that they will continue to highlight inequities in the distribution of educational infrastructure and mobilize resources to address these challenges.
