Kalaahi community depends on milky pipe bone water for drinking

Residents of Kalaahi in the Wa East District of the Upper West Region depend on milky pipe bone water for household choice due to lack of potable water in the area.

The Community which is estimated about five (5,000) thousand population depends on one borehole, aside from the few dry Dams in the area.

The situation has compelled the residents to walk a long distance in search of dam water.

Residents of the area have expressed worry over the situation, pointing out how they compete with animals for the Dam water.

"We don't know what to do again, we’re over 5000 people here, we depend on one borehole and dam water because there's no other sources of water to drink nor bath. " a resident, Musah Adam bemoaned.

Musah said all efforts to get the attention of the authorities to help solve the water situation has yielded no results.
