Pupils and teachers of Akyem Kade Methodist Primary School B, in the Kwabibirem Municipal of the Eastern Region, have always been submerged by water whenever it rains.

The latest experience was the heavy downpour on late Thursday 18th March 2021, which affected academic activities on Friday 19th March 2021.

According to a teacher of the Kade Methodist basic school B, Mr. Frank, Classes are suspended whenever it rains during school hours, adding that if it happens after school hours, all the classrooms are flooded, books are destroyed and the entire basic school teaching is halted, for a day or two.

The PTA chairman for the Basic school, Mr. Kwasi Opare, on his part declared that the reoccurrences of the flood since the school was built by the government are a result of the contractor's inability to site the waterway.

He emphasized the need for the school to be relocated to avoid an unexpected casualty some days to come as another season of rains has emerged.

He called on the Municipal Assembly to as a matter of urgency find a lasting solution or relocate the school to the problem since the entire block is becoming a death trap to its occupants.
