According to the former Deputy Minister for Power, in the said press statement, the commission sought to deny claims that their budget was slashed by more than half as a result of the implementation of the Capping and Realignment Act introduced by the Akuffo-Addo Government.

"I have attached herewith the report of the 2018 Energy Sector Levies Act as submitted to Parliament by the Hon. Minister of Finance, Mr Ken Offori-Atta as evidence" Mr Jinapo  Said.
