Arsenal legend, Paul Merson has warned Chelsea owner, Todd Boehly not to sell midfielder Mason Mount.

Merson believes that the England international has been Chelsea’s best player in recent seasons and was outstanding last year,

The former England winger believes it would be ‘bad business’ to allow Mount, who came through the club’s youth formation to join a Premier League rival.

The Three Lions midfielder has established himself as a mainstay in the Blues over the past four seasons.

The youth team product has made 192 appearances for the west London side, helping them to win the Champions League under Thomas Tuchel.

“Mason Mount was by far Chelsea’s best player last season. He was outstanding,” Merson told Sky Sports.

Mount has struggled this season in a tricky season for Graham Potter's side, scoring just three goals as the Blues have slumped to 10th in the league.

They have enjoyed something of a resurgence in recent weeks after qualifying for the Champions League last eight and picking up back-to-back league wins, but suffered a disappointing 2-2 draw to Everton in their last game before the international break.

Chelsea will next be in action when they face Aston Villa on April 1.
