Pep Guardiola says Jason Sancho’s return to Manchester City is not possible despite transfer speculations linking the Borussia Dortmund star to the Etihad.

The winger, who left Manchester City in 2017 after refusing to extend his stay in an interview with Sportbible last season spoke of no regrets leaving City and credited the club for developing him into a goal-scoring machine.

"When I left City, there was a lot of people that doubted me – they were like “oh you shouldn’t have left Pep Guardiola” – but I just thought that it was the best thing for me,” he

"I still have love for Pep, I still love everyone at the club, because they took me from Watford and helped me develop into who I am today, and obviously going to Dortmund.

"They helped with a bigger step for me – making my debut. And now I’ve made my debut I’ve expressed myself and now I’m in the position where I am today.

"I’m just so grateful to everyone who’s been a part of my journey so far. Watford as well, started off life at Watford, so it’s been really good."

Pep Guardiola has dismissed a U-turn for the 20-year old and communicated that his departure means he did not want to be part of the club’s achievements.

A crop of young players from the Manchester City academy have graduated and offered professional contracts to be part of Guardiola's project and the results have started paying off.

"No, no, no. He decided to leave. Why should he decide to come back?” Guardiola enquired.

"We wanted him to stay like Eric Garcia and Phil (Foden) but he decided like Leroy now and myself, when I decided to move to other countries to be a manager, to move.

"When he decided to move to Dortmund it's not because he is going to decide to come back one year later. It would make no sense. He didn't want to be here, so that is why I think he doesn't want to come back here."

Sancho has been heavily linked with a move to Premier League with Manchester United a probable destination yet his €117.00m price value seems frightening due to the financial hit on clubs budget by the coronavirus.
