Internal Audit Agency Launches War Machine To Safeguard Public Funds

As Means of ensuring accountability and Transparent towards the management of public funds, the Center for Local Government Advocacy (CLGA) in collaboration with the Internal Audit Agency (IAA) has launched the Public Financial Management (PFMCLT) Compliance League Table in Accra.

As Means of ensuring accountability and Transparent towards the management of public funds, the Center for Local Government Advocacy (CLGA) in collaboration with the Internal Audit Agency (IAA) has launched the Public Financial Management (PFMCLT) Compliance League Table in Accra. 
The Public financial management  Act was enacted in 2016 to support effective resource mobilization, inject financial discipline and promote accountability in the management of public Funds. 
Speaking with media at the launch Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Mr. Dan Botwey said the league table will help support public institutions to comply with PFM laws of Ghana for improved accountability and transparency. 
Mr. Botwey added that the league table Will help to compile and publish a league table that will inject discipline among state institutions in the management of public funds. 
On his part, the Director-General at the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), E. O. Osae, said the introduction of the league table will help monitor and rate activities at the public sector and sanction heads of institutions who fail to comply with PFM Laws or better demote heads of institutions. 
According to him, PFM has come to erase corruption malpractices in the public institution to ensure transparency prevails.
