Inspired Alswel Foundation has made a donation of assorted materials including school uniforms, school Bags, Sneakers, and Exercise Books to pupils of Nkwantapong D/A Primary school within the Bosome Fraho District of the Ashanti region.

The donation which was done in collaboration with LaBella Foundation follows a social media post of a video by a teacher of the school. In the said video, while some pupils were seen wearing tattered uniforms and walking barefooted to school, others looked visibly frustrated. Speaking in an interview with the founder of Inspired Alswel Foundation Mr. Alswel Anna, he described the sight of the video as heart-wrenching sight thereby making the move in addressing the same.

She highlighted the challenging circumstances the pupils showcased in the video seem to find themselves in. He noted the distressing scenes in the video painting the situation that the pupils were subjected to and which had prompted the foundation to take action and offer assistance to the school. Mr. Alswel Anna said the decision to mitigate the plight of the learners is in consonant with the goal of the foundation which is to bring hope and happiness to these innocent children and alleviate the struggles they are facing.

He said, " we wiped away their tears, addressed some of their frustrations, and solved the dilemma of whether they should attend school without proper uniforms and learning materials". Mr. Anning Isaac a class six (6) teacher who posted the videos on social media platforms disclosed that most of the students come to school on empty stomach and because of that concentrating during classes is very low therefore calling on both the Ministry of Education and Gender and Children to incorporate the school into the school feeding program. Mr. Anning expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the foundation for the gesture and said it will go a long way to encourage the pupils to come to school since most of the pupils lack most of these educational materials.

According to the foundation, the donation was an opportunity to identify the challenges faced by these pupils, and was shocked to find out that the classrooms were more like chicken coops, learners had no desks and no reading materials. "It made us question whether these pupils were being adequately protected and supported", he noted.
