Infinity Global Empowerment Has Held Women Empowerment Conference For Its Granduants On Its 5th Anniversary Celebration
The Infinity Global Empowerment (IGE), a non-profit organization which is implementing its major initiative programme dubbed "Wo Ye Bra," has held a comprehensive women's empowerment conference for its granduants on its 5th anniversary celebration.

The conference which was attended by Wo Ye Bra sponsors from United States of America (USA) who had joined the celebration.
The event was primarily focused on improving access to education on sewing of reusable sanitary pads and enterprenour for women through villages and community led programmes.
The event therefore allow granduants of the organization to build the skills and capacity to improve their quality of lives.
The Founder of Wo Ye Bra who doubles as the President of IGE, Rev. Dr. Adrienne Booth Johnson stressed that the organization identified problems of some school girls and realized that many girls missed school during their menstrual cycle.

This phenomenon, according to him, was due to lack of adequate sanitary pad especially those in rural areas, who are financially challenged.
She therefore noted that the support of Wo Ye programme has helped to empower women economically and socially by giving them a marketable skills and knowledge to become financially independent.

She indicated that the programme has also increased self-esteem and self confidence in most women in the rural communities.
According to Rev. Dr. Johnson, learning tools are presented to the trainee under the projects to ensure projects are educationally focused.
The projects were aimed at improving the opportunities for societies vulnerable in order to have the most effective and positive impact on the society.

Vice President of Wo Ye Bra Programme, Mrs. Ellen Adwoa Adu Baah explained that Wo Ye Bra in the Ghanaian dialect Twi, refers to the menstrual cycle of women.
She pointed out that the Infinity Global Empowerment Organization has fully-funded intensive training on how to make and sell reusable and washable sanitary pads/towels for sale to the women in villages.

The organization provided each woman with a free sewing machines, fabric, sewing tools, meals, transportation expenses and training by local seamstresses, as now have created 250 women entrepreneurs in Ghana who are sustaining themselves and their families as a result of the programme.
Mrs. Ellen indicated that, the Wo Ye Bra conference stands together with the women in villages to develop through engaging, educating and empowering women with entrepreneurship and lend a helping hand by sewing reusable sanitary pads in order for them to achieve sustainable and long-term social changes in their livelihoods.

However, some of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the organization, saying the programme has helped them financially.
The Wo Ye Bra Program has the dual purpose of creating women entrepreneurs and keeping girls in school. We do this by providing all of the resources and training for Ghana and Sierra Leone West African women to become seamstresses.
This includes providing a free sewing machine, fabric supplies and micro-funding. Additionally, we provide sales and marketing training and financial education.

These entrepreneurs make reusable sanitary pads that they sale and donate to school age girls to help them stay in school during their menstrual cycle.
The graduates of the organization are able to create reusable pads and expand their sewing businesses to include school uniforms and other clothing for their communities.
The Wo Ye Bra program addresses two societal problems: supporting women and keeping girls in school.
