Indian High Commissioner Pays Courtesy Call to Berekum Senior High School. 

At the ceremony to honor the Indian High Commissioner, His Excellency Birender Singh, the headmaster of the school Mr. Affi Yaw Stephen who welcomed him to the school expressed his appreciation to see the commissioner in their school for the very first time.

The Indian High Commissioner, His Excellency Birender Singh today Thursday, 16th June 2022, has paid a courtesy call on the students and staff of Berekum Senior High School in the Berekum East Municipality of the Bono Region. 

The High Commissioner was highly welcomed by the Berekum East Municipal Chief Executive, Honourable Kofi Adjei, the Headmaster of the school, Students, the "kate" dancing group, and other technocratic at the Municipal Assembly. 

At the ceremony to honor the Indian High Commissioner, His Excellency Birender Singh, the headmaster of the school Mr. Affi Yaw Stephen who welcomed him to the school expressed his appreciation to see the commissioner in their school for the very first time. 

In his welcome address, Mr. Affi Yaw Stephen in his speech emphasized the challenges the school is faced with including a befitting Assembly hall for gatherings, teachers' bungalows, and a fence wall for security purposes among other challenges in the school. 

The Indian High Commissioner thanked the school authorities for their warm reception and commended the authorities for what he saw. 

According to the Indian High Commissioner, Berekum Senior High School is in their heart and has come to formalize himself in the school to see how best his office can assist the students in the school. 

He said the school is progressing gradually in terms of Information Communication Technology (ICT), and the high Commissioner promised to assist the school to expand its ICT laboratory and to furnish the lab with computers and other gadgets to make teaching and learning enjoyable in the school, encourage the students most especially to also embrace ICT in their field of education as the world has become global. 

He pledged to do his best to support the school to overcome some of the challenges faced by the school. 

The Municipal Cheif Executive Officer for Berekum East Municipality, Honorable. Kofi Adjei also added that Berekum in its geographical position is at the center of the Bono Region and is a very viable city for business growth since the cam boost of two markets Center is Berekum weekly Thursday Market and the Central market-making Berekum a business hub in the Bono Region.

He thanked the Indian High Commissioner for the visit and called on him to maintain the relationship that has been established between the Assembly and his office.

He concluded that Berekum is ever ready to build businesses with the Indian citizens living in Ghana to create between these two countries.
