Independent Candidate In Madina Parliamentary Race, Awal Mohammed Caged
An Independent Candidate in Madina Parliamentary race in the Greater Accra Region, Mr Awal Mohammed has been remanded by the Adenta Circuit Court.

This follows an adjournment of a case involving dishonesty and deception.
Mr Mohammed who was a former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Branch Chairman for Madina who filed to contest as independent candidate resorted to using the image of the Flagbearer of the NDC, former President John Dramani Mahama and his image for his electoral posters, a conduct which almost sparked violence.

Following a formal complaint to the Madina Police, he was charged and arraigned before the circuit court where he was remanded to reappear on Friday, 18th October, 2024 for his application for a ruling on his application for bail.
Representing the NDC were the Madina Constituency Chairman and Secretary and a team of lawyers who were holding criminal briefs on behalf of the party.
However attempts to get Mr Mohammed to respond to the allegations levelled against him have proved futile.
