John Dumelo has received a donation of GH1,850 from young ladies from Legon, Knustford, and UPSA for his campaign in the upcoming parliamentary primaries in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency.

For the second time in a row, John Dumelo would compete for the NDC's parliamentary nomination for Ayawaso West Wuogon ahead of the 2024 general election.

Mr. Dumelo lost in his first attempt, as did his opponent, Mrs. Alhassan, who succeeded her late husband in the race. He received 37,478 votes, or 48.3 percent, compared to Mrs. Alhassan's 39,851 votes, or 51.4 percent.

Despite John Dumelo's defeat, the results seemed to favor him because he gained 8.7% more votes for the NDC while the NPP lost 5.9% from its previous performance.

Celebrities have cancelled Independence Day celebrations because Ghana is broke; John Dumelo tells Nana Addo that in his first attempt, which was also the first of his opponent, Mrs. Alhassan, who took over for her late husband in the race, Mr. Dumelo lost with 37,478 votes, or 48.3 percent, compared to Mrs. Alhassan's 39,851 votes, or 51.4%.

Mr. Dumelo believes that the upcoming election is his chance to win the NDC seat for the second time since Rebecca Akweley Adotey won it in 1996 because of this.

John Dumelo expressed his gratitude to his friends via his Twitter page.

"Was humbled to receive the leader of 23 women who gave 1,850 ghp to my campaign. The ladies, who are friends, are Legon, Knustford, and UPSA students. I truly appreciate it. Together we should make Awayaso West extraordinary once more! # He wrote, "2ndcoming #JD2024".
