In a bombing in Karachi, Pakistan, a Chinese man was murdered.

According to authorities, three Chinese nationals and their Pakistani driver were killed in an explosion in Karachi, Pakistan's southern city.

Near the university's Confucius Institute, the blast smashed through their van, injuring at least four others.

The reason for the explosion has yet to be determined by police, however, the separatist Baloch Liberation Army claims the van was targeted by a female suicide bomber.

Locals, according to the organization, do not benefit from Chinese investment in Pakistan.

If true, it would be the first time a female militant has attacked the group.

The Pakistani Taliban, like the Chinese Taliban, has attacked Chinese nationals on several occasions.

China is heavily involved in large infrastructure projects across Pakistan, including in resource-rich Balochistan province.
