Neco Williams has disclosed how he is imitating from fellow Liverpool Academy player, Trent Arnold Alexander at training.

Alexander-Arnold has been outstanding for Liverpool since he made his debut in 2016, starting and playing around 70-minutes in a 2-1 League Cup win over Tottenham.

He kept his place for the next cup game and was named man of the match in a 2-0 win over Leeds.

He has since advanced his gameplay and is considered today as one of the best right-backs in the world.

Arnold has so far made 88 appearances for the Reds and scored five goals since his first game in the Premier League. He has provided 25 assists and helped the Reds cling their first Premier League trophy after three decades of drought.

He is today a role model for a lot of young lads with Williams self confessing to that.

“Definitely - in training now as I’m playing I’m watching him, I’m taking things in and taking stuff that he does into my game,” Williams told Liverpoolfc.com.

“In training now I’m pushing. I’m pushing him and he’s pushing me and it’s nice to have a little battle because I’m trying to fight for a place and so are all the other lads, so there’s nothing stopping us from trying to perform and putting in the hard work in training to fight for a place.”

Neco Williams’s top-flight debut off the bench against Crystal Palace last month, the teenager has since appeared as a substitute in the champions’ games versus Manchester City and Aston Villa.
