Wendy Shay has maintained that she is not against love.

The actress had earlier called out female Ghanaian artists for giving themselves, cheap top Nigerian artists.

According to her, popular Ghanaian artists date underground Nigerian artists while popular artists would never date any underground artists.

She, therefore, urged Ghanaian artists to stop stooping so low for the sake of promoting Ghanaian music.

“You will see these underground acts come around and before you’ll see, he is dating one of our top stars then we give him hype. It is my personal observation and it worries me as a girl and as a female in the industry. It is painful that top top stars, not just musicians but all these stars before you see it some Nigerian underground is dating her.” She noted.

This made some Ghanaian artists hit out at her claims.

They claimed that Wendy Shay was trying to speak out against love since anyone can date anybody they like regardless of their status in society.

These critics maintained that being popular or not should determine if two people will date.

Wendy Shay has now noted that she never meant to speak against love as all she wanted to do was promote Ghanaian music.

While speaking to Kojo Manuel on the ‘Audiomack hour’ on Y107.9FM’s 'Dryve of Your Lyfe' she confessed that she has not really seen a female Ghanaian artiste dating Nigerian underground artists.

She just made her statement because she wanted to promote Ghanaian goods.

“I’m not against love or whoever you choose to give yourself to. It is your problem and I don’t have any problem with that. I was only trying to promote Ghana goods. I was just saying that we Ghanaians love to support or accept foreigners more than ourselves and I was trying to say that it goes to the extent of even in our dating system,”
