I'd like to return to the Champions League – Richmond Boakye-Yiadom

Richmond Boakye-Yiadom, a Ghana international, could be on his way out of Beitar Jerusalem this summer in search of a return to the Champions League.

Since departing Red Star Belgrade in 2020, the 29-year-old has not competed in the coveted competition. At this point in his career, the former Juventus attacker believes he is ready to make an impact in Europe.

Boakye-Yiadom is hopeful that a return to the Champions League will improve his prospects of joining the Black Stars for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which will take place later this year.

"It's been a long time since I've seen the Champions League." This year, I'm looking for a club that competes in the Europa League or Champions League," said the player.

"Offers have been made, but we must take our time to make a decision." It's been a long time, and I'd like to reclaim my European ranking."

"I don't need to say Red Star or a bigger team," Boakye-Yiadom said when asked which team he would like to join. "The only thing is improving my skill, which is scoring, and we have a World Cup ahead of us, so I need to train as much as I can to showcase my talent."

The Black Stars forward also stated that he is in excellent enough shape to compete at the highest level.

"You don't have to say much," he added, "but I always say simply prove yourself on the field, be determined, train hard, and the rest of the fans and Ghanaians will judge for themselves."

Following the conclusion of the 2021/22 season, Boakye-Yiadom is currently in Ghana on vacation.
