Kieran Trippier says he would like to retire his football career at his former side Burnley.

According to the Englishman, he would like to return to his time with Atletico Madrid ends.

 Trippier joined Los Rojiblancos in the summer of 2019 from Spurs after making 114 appearances for the club in all competitions.

"I would love to retire there. That's my aim, to retire at Burnley," Trippier told the Burnley Express.

"I want to play as high as I can for as long as I can but I'll know when the time is right.

"If I'm at Atletico for another two years which will take me to 32 [years of age], Burnley is the only team that I'd come back to England for," he added.

When he hangs up his boots, Trippier mentioned that he would like to get into coaching under the stewardship of his former mentor at Burnley.

"After [playing career] I'd start my coaching badges and I'd love to coach at Burnley," he stated.

"I'd just love to go wherever Sean Dyche goes."

"We have a great relationship. We're in contact all the time about family and football. He still mithers me about taking me back one day."
