I Went Off Social Media To Focus - King Promise

King Promise has indicated that social media is a distraction for him.

The artiste, who followed in the footsteps of Shatta Wale to make his social media leave, explained he needed time to himself.

“I have stopped writing songs for people. There’s no particular reason. Just needed time to focus on myself. First of all, I have to be a fan of your music before I will be able to write for you.

"I don’t really sign split sheet when it comes to my artiste-friends. Usually, publishing take care of that."

"I went off social media for the first time to focus on my forthcoming album. We have everything it takes to do it. We just have to know the right plugs.”

This he said in his interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM.

The social media break has been paying him dividends seeing that he recently grabbed a new deal as he got signed on 5K Records, Sony Music Entertainment.

King Promise also claimed that he is the most streamed artist in Ghana without offering facts to back his claim up.

In his bid to explained why he has not been winning awards, King Promise admitted he makes songs for streams and not awards.

"The mentality from the inception has been not to care about awards. I would have been broken by now if I paid attention to awards."

"I am the most-streamed Ghanaian artiste of all time. I am making my money from streams, shows and deals. Not winning awards do not get to me that much." He concluded.
