The Minister of Communications and Digitization who doubles as an MP for Ablekuma West constituency, Mrs Ursula Owusu Ekuful on her one-week working visit to the Western North region has launched the International Girls in ICT at Sefwi-Wiawso Municipality.

The launch was organized under the auspicious of communications and Digitization, under the theme" Connecting Girls, Creating Brighter Futures". 

Hon. Ursula Owusu Ekuful, addressing the participants said, in times like this, there are a lot of difficulties in life.

She added that she was once a charcoal seller but with determination, drive, and focus that has made her who she is now.

Hon. Ursula Owusu Ekuful urged the girls with this opportunity to take the ''Girls In ICT'' agenda very seriously since it will help them achieve their goals.

Speaking with Soireenews reporter Nattybongo, Madam Agnes Asare, the Western North Regional Coordinator for the ''GIRL CHILD EDUCATION '' also said, the launch is an opportunity to straighten girls in the regions for the reason that before the introduction of the ''Girls In ICT'' agenda, most of young ladies had not even seen a computer before.

She told that the girls should constantly practice whatever they will be taught in school and make good use of available resources to empower their lives ahead of tomorrow.

She also entreated the government to aid in providing them with more computers to aid their learning.

Some of the beneficiaries speaking with Nattybongo expressed their gratitude about this agenda.

They further said that, through this training, they have been able to know how to use a computer, create a folder and do several programs on the computer.
