Albert Celades believes Valencia still have a chance of progressing in their Champions League tie with Atalanta.

Los Che will host their Italian opponents at Mestalla in three weeks' time, aiming to overturn a 4-1 deficit.

"I think it's possible to come back," Celades said.

"We're going away with a very heavy result.

"We're stronger in front of our own fans at Mestalla and we're not going to settle."

Despite the big scoreline, Celades didn't think his Valencia side deserved to be beaten so heavily.

"It's a heavy result that doesn't correspond to what we saw on the pitch," he said.

"We will prepare in the best way to try to give it our all in the return leg.

"The difference was the effectiveness on the pitch.

"It's very difficult to score every chance you have.

"Us lacking effectiveness doesn't mean that, at this level, with this potential, that we can concede so many goals.

"We're conceding lots of goals and we have to improve this.

"We could have seen a bigger scoreline for both sides.

"We conceded too many goals."
