'I Rushed Into Marriage Because She Was Pregnant' – Blogger, Kobby Kyei

Renowned Ghanaian blogger and entertainment pundit, Kobby Kyei has revealed that he did not plan to marry his current wife, Georgette but he entered into marriage due to circumstances beyond his control.

According to Kobby Kyei in a recent interview on Ayekoo Ayekoo on Accra 100.5 FM, he was forced to marry his girlfriend after he impregnated her.

Recounting his marital journey and humble beginnings, Kobby Kyei said he was sleeping in a room with only a blanket that cost twenty Ghana cedis and that was the only thing he owned in his life as a man when his girlfriend was pregnant.

Kobby Kyei claimed that the only source of income for him was the stipends given to journalists during press conferences dubbed “Solidarity.” 

He admitted that on occasion, GHc50 was provided to him as “sold.”

Kobby Kyei revealed that even though he was in good standing financially, he asked his wife to keep their baby.

“I had just started blogging and nobody knew me or had my name on their list when I went to events”.

“The very day we realized she was pregnant, I held her hand and went to see her parents”,

“My girlfriend’s parents did not know. The girl didn’t tell them also. She protected me because she believed I was hardworking and could make it”.

“I went to show the list to my parents but they told me they were unprepared and this was an impromptu wedding and I wasn’t employed”, he disclosed.
