Minister-designate for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has denied reports claiming he said that the Akufo-Addo government was going to increase teachers’ salaries by 12.5%.

It circulated that the Minister-designate had diclosed to the media about government's plan to increase salaries of teachers.

However, in a disclaimer, Dr Adutwum said he has made no such remarks on any platform, and that the public should therefore disregard the news.

Dr. Adutwum who serves as Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe Constituency issued the disclaimer on his Facebook page.

For Immediate Release DISCLAIMER My attention has been drawn to news circulating that I have granted an interview stating that the government is increasing workers’ salaries by 12.5%, including that of teachers. I state categorically that, I have made no such remarks on any platform. The public should therefore disregard this news. Warm regards. Hon.
