Ghanaian rap god, Sarkodie has finally replied his colleague, Gasmilla, on their misunderstanding over who created the Azonto culture.

Sarkodie recently called for the culture to be revived by Ghanaian artistes, and it seemed like Gasmilla took an offence on this by claiming that Sarkodie does not hold the rights to call for that as only he, the originator of the culture, can perform that action.

Sarkodie has refuted Gasmilla's claim and stated that he never once said that he was the creator of the genre. He stated that he and Gasmilla aren't in any beef as they still have an unreleased song together.

Gasmilla took offence in Sarkodie's call and stated that he created the genre and not Sarkodie as many people claim. He also took offence in that Sarkodie did not call him personally to join the campaign, and has stated that he would not be part of it because of that singular act.

Sarkodie in an interview spoke that he has never laid claim to being the creator of the genre because he is not the originator of it. The award winning rapper explained that if he starts a campaign and people do not want to join there's really nothing he can do about it.

Sarkodie started the #bringbackazonto campaign and it has been received with much enthusiasm on the social media scene as Ghanaians recognise the potential that the culture possesses. He stated the need to revive the genre and a few other musicians have jumped in the trend too.
