Fast-rising actress, Jemima Osunde known for her role in MTV drama series, ‘Shuga’ has declared that she lied about her age when she started out in Nollywood.

She stated that she had to lie in order to get a chance to showcase her talent in Nollywood.

“I lie about my age every day. In this industry, I have to. I started acting at the age of 17, though I was actually supposed to start by 18. But age is just a number. I will not allow it to hold my destiny. Sometimes it’s necessary for the job. I am not asking you to lie”, she told Tontrends.

Osunde a trained Physiotherapist has starred in movies like  ‘Lion Heart, ‘Delivery Boy’ , ‘New Money’ amongst others.

She appeared in her first film called Jungle Jewel after being encouraged by her uncle to pursue acting.

She was casted as Laila in MTV Shuga, appearing in the fourth series shot in Nigeria. When the show moved to South Africa for its fifth series, Osunde was written out for a year. She returned for the sixth series when it returned to Nigeria.
