Former Black Stars defender, John Paintsil explains the reason for his presence on Lilwin’s movie set

John Paintsil has denied rumours that he has crossed into the movie industry.
The former Black Stars defender was seen on Lilwin's set for the comic actor's upcoming series called Agya Bofoa.

This made fans come to the conclusion that he had started a promising career in the entertainment industry.
He has however put the rumours to bed by noting that he only appeared on the set because Lilwin asked him for a favour.
According to him, Lilwin is a very close friend and he decided to go support him by appearing on his set; he explained that Lilwin would have done the same for him and will still do the same if he has any upcoming projects wants the comic actor to feature in.
“As a celebrity, if your friend calls for your help you have to go and support him. Acting is not my job but football which is coaching and playing. I just gave a helping hand to a friend. I can also call Lilwin to come and help me when I am organizing a project. Even if a musician wants me to appear in their videos I will.”
“I have not joined the movie industry. My friend called me to come and help him.
“Acting is not my thing, I just went to support Lil Win. So I played the role that was given to me. I didn’t struggle when I was on set. It wasn’t difficult because I know how to talk.”
“It is a series which is coming out very soon called Agya Bofoa and the producers will be the best people to bring out the release date,”
This he said in an interview with Happy 98.9FM with Odiasempa Kwame Oware.
John Paintsil is currently the assistant coach for South Africa's Kaizer Chiefs.
