Jay Foley has disclosed that his brand name was bestowed on him by Hammer of The Last Two.

The co-host of Prime Morning on Joy Prime born John Mensah Foley Admitted that his name would not be popular as it is now if not for the legendary Ghanaian producer.

“In 2001, a few days after I completed Achimota School. I mustered some courage to call one of Ghana’s finest music producers, Edward Osei aka Hammer of the Last Two. My request was simple, I wanted to learn how to make beats."

"I was 18. When I met him finally, he asked me my name. I said, John Foley. Then he said to me, gentleman, from this day onwards, I will call you JAY FOLEY. That was the beginning of the man I am today. Thanks, Hammer. You’ve inspired me a lot”. He narrated.

Hammer, who is the co-founder of the Last 2 Music group that produced artists such as Obrafour, Tinny, Kwaw Kese, Edem, and TeePhlow, has been known to be a major force in the life of multiple superstars.

He recently asked artistes to take their minds off the Grammy Awards as it is not a measure of success.

"Why are people talking about the Grammys like it's easy to get? There are thousands of songs and the whole continent is crumbling for just one category,” he said, adding that:” It's not something they should look up to. I think they should make great music and when they are wired around the world and on a big label, they will find themselves at the Grammys”.

”The structures are wrong and we are not going to wait for somebody to vote us into power before we educate people,” he said.

Foley is the founder of Radio and Advertising People, a company that produces adverts for radio stations.

The company is behind the audio drama series ‘Leaked,’ with Foley serving as an executive producer and writer.
