Afrobeats singer, Ayra Starr, has lamented about the effects of her busy schedule as an artist on her looks.
The songstress said despite being born in 2002, she already feels “old.”
She revealed that she had met people born in the 90s who were younger and more vibrant than her.
Starr spoke to Rode in Nairobi, Kenya.
“I have met people who were born in the 90s and they’re so vibrant and so young. I’m old and I was just born in 2002,” she lamented.
“I want to stay home, I want to sleep.”
On what inspires her creative process, the singer said, “I feel like the more I make music, the more I recognise what my path is and what I’m trying to do.”
In a related post, famous Nigerian musician, Timaya disclosed why he likes the controversial street-pop singer, Portable.
Speaking in his latest interview on Channels Television, Timaya explained that Portable reminds him of his past “because he’s crazy like me.”
Reminiscing on his first encounter with Portable’s music, Timaya pointed out the similarities between them.
“That’s why I like Portable, when he came out newly, I told 2face Idibia about him on our way to Delta State. I said, have you heard that guy Portable? Zazu Zeh. That guy is just like me because I was a crazy guy.
“These Gen Z’s don’t know about my early career. So, sometimes when I talk, some people would be like Timaya is unproblematic, he minds his business. I just look at them like, if only they knew me. It’s now that I have calmed, I was really really crazy then. I was hot like fire but I think there’s growth. At the time it was a strategy for me.”
