Jackie Appiah has said she does not need any money from the government to do what’s right, unlike Shatta Wale.

Canadian-born Ghanaian Actress Jackie Appiah has said that she is not looking for any financial compensation, especially from the government, to help educate the public on the happenings of the deadly Coronavirus and necessary precautions to take to help curb it's spread. 

She has said that every celebrity has a basic civic duty to use her popularity to help educate her fans and everybody they have the power to reach on the global pandemic which has already claimed thousands of lives at this point. 

Jackie Appiah is convinced that money is not a priority in these times as the most important element of man is life. She spoke on how the government does not need to pay celebrities to be ambassadors to educate the Ghanaian public on COVID-19.

USA has been hit hardest by the Coronavirus. The country just recently overtook Italy as the country with the most recorded cases. The Surgeon General of the United States of America personally asked its celebrities to use their wide reaches to educate the public. He was seen asking Kylie Jenner to use her more than 170m follower audience on Instagram to benefit the country. 

Jackie Appiah has said the Coronavirus is bigger than everything else at the moment, and she spoke on her interview on Showbiz 927 on 3FM that everyone must come on board to figh the virus. 

She said "We all need to educate each other…This is a global thing, it’s not just my industry alone. It’s quite sad…sometimes I use my platform to educate people,” 

"I don’t need to wait for government; nobody needs to wait for anybody to call them. I think it is right for an individual to preach to people to talk to people that’s why we have the numbers. God has given us the numbers to educate people…everyone needs to educate people because people don’t understand [what is going on]”.

She reiterated that she does not need money from the government to support the campaign. “I’m doing this already for free right now nobody is paying me. I’m already doing it without being paid.”
