Artiste, Nene Joojo, admits that he bears no grudges on his decision to switch from Rap to Highlife

Nene Joojo has revealed he does not have any regrets leaving the rap game for Highlife music.

According to him, the highlife genre is the lifeblood of Ghanaian tracks and so he, therefore, does not feel bad focusing on it full time.

“Highlife is our backbone and a stronghold for Ghanaians. When it comes to music, Joojo who has been doing highlife for 5 years now has enjoyed the genre and keeps exploring”.

This he said to Foster Romanus on the Late Nite Celebrity Show on e.TV Ghana.

“I believe if you really want to last long in the industry as far as music is concerned then, it’s best you know how to sing”.

He explained that he has now found a way to fuse his former rapping skills into his highlife, making him even more dexterous than most artistes that major in only highlife.

"it’s advisable for every musician to know how to sing before adding rap to it”.

Divine Joojo Darko, known in music life as Nene Joojo who began his music as an underground rapper with colleagues such as D Cryme, Sarkodie, Danso Abbiam, Stay Jay ‘Possible’ is set to resurrect  Highlife genre in Ghana and beyond.

Nene Joojo in 2012 was featured on two Highlife songs; “Engya Me Ho” and “Kyere Wo Do” with Kwabena Kwabena on his Daakye album which made a lot of Highlife lovers recognized him.

After the successful release of his “Empaboa Fofro” which features rapper Teephlow in 2016.
