Recall, Nollywood actor, Nosa Rex shared an experience he had with veteran actor, Richard Mofe-Damijo in 2018.

During that year, Rex took to his Instagram page to recount that the celebrated actor didn’t give them a favourable response years earlier when they sought his financial assistance over the medical condition of their late colleague, Clems Onyeka.

During an interview with Saturday Beats, Nosa Rex disclosed that his intention wasn’t to disrespect RMD.

Nosa stated “I wasn’t disrespectful to RMD. I just shared my experience in order to express what had been on my mind since 2014. I didn’t say what I said because I had any hatred for him or because I was trying to disrespect him.

"If I had that in mind, I wouldn’t still be following him on Instagram. He is someone I respect. I respect his craft. If one does wrong, it is normal for one to talk about it instead of me to harbouring it in my mind.

“I have been free since the day I made the statement. I still like his pictures and follow him ‘bumper to bumper’.

"The person I mentioned, Clem Onyeka, was a friend and what he (RMD) did then wasn’t really nice. It’s all in the past right now. We learn every day. I still love RMD. I am still a boy and a son to him.

Nosa Rex also shared the struggles actors often experience in the course of doing their job.

He said “The struggle to be seen, struggle to put your work out there for people to see, struggle to come to limelight are some of the struggles we experience. It is not easy being strong in an industry where you won’t think of making money in your first few years. Fame and money don’t come at the same time; you get famous first, before the money comes.

“That is how Nollywood works. Trying to be what people think you are is also another challenge. People have the belief that actors are rich, so actors are forced to measure up to the standard. It’s not easy; those are the little struggles we face. If you are giving your 95 per cent to making movies, how will you channel the remaining five per cent to other side ‘hustles’ (jobs)?

Speaking on what has sustained his marriage, Rex said,

“First and foremost, I would say God, patience and understanding. It may also be because I am not too uptight in my marriage. I am just chilling with my friend (wife).

"Sometimes, I still tell my wife, let’s still be boyfriend and girlfriend. I was ready for it; nobody forced me into it. So I try to face every challenge that comes and knock it out".
